Primary Objective of Houseperson Position

To contribute to an attractive and cleanhotel in accordance with the standards of Bartell Hotels by providing publicspace cleaning of customer floors, hallways, service areas and outside grounds.Assist Room Attendants with all supplies necessary for smooth operation ofdepartment

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintainsthe overall cleanliness of the hotel's public space by cleaning all assignedareas thoroughly on a daily basis
  • Cleanspublic areas including; floors, carpets, restrooms, lobbies, hallways, vendingareas, service areas, stairwells, fitness center, grounds and any other areasneeded for cleaning
  • Cleans andpolishes floors, windows, mirrors, vending machines, and ice machines
  • Vacuums,shampoos, and removes gum spots from carpets as required
  • Removes alllitter from public space
  • Dusts allspots thoroughly
  • Distributeslinen and supplies to Room Attendants and performs other cleaning duties asrequired
  • Prevents anydamage to hotel property by exercising proper caution with chemicals
  • Maximizesjob efficiency and neat, orderly appearance by maintaining well-stocked andclean supply cart and linen closet
  • Maintains vacuum cleaner by replacing and/or emptying bag daily, cleaning and placing according to S.O.P.'s 
  • Insures therapid maintenance and repair of hotel equipment by reporting all maintenancerequests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Completeswork projects as assigned by supervisor and management
  • Minimizessafety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of allproblems or unusual matters of significance

Other duties may be assigned as needed

Physical Demands & Work Environment 

Whileperforming the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand;walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk orhear and taste or smell.  The employee is frequently required to climb orbalance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as frequently liftingand/or moving up to 75 pounds.  Theemployee must also be able to go up and down a flight of stairs while carrying75 pounds.  The employee is sometimesexposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level in the workenvironment is usually moderate.
