The Public Utilities Logistics Planner is a full-time position with benefits and a preferred hiring range of $28.57 - $31.42 per hour (equivalent to $59,425 - $65,353 annually); however, an exact salary will be dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications/experience and in compliance with City policy. You're the ideal candidate if you're a quick learner with visionary aptitude for administrative work and software that is company-specific for resource scheduling in the utility trade, and possess administrative experience in a utility or in a trade of similar work structure.
As the Logistics Planner with Public Utilities, you'll:
- Coordinate the planning and scheduling of Water and Sewer operation and maintenance programs;
- Work in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to prioritize and deliver weekly, monthly, and yearly work schedules;
- Develop and schedule various asset management activities under the scope of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, repair, and retirement for water system linear and/or vertical assets, sewer system linear and/or vertical assets, and/or water treatment assets;
- Work with management-level staff team members and the Engineering Division for planning and implementing utility programs and projects in such work areas as water and sewer linear asset maintenance that includes water main protection, paving assistance for utility adjustments, fire hydrant inspection-flow testing, valve exercising, meter reading, large meter testing and repair, leak survey, distribution water quality monitoring, sewer inflow and infiltration (I&I) investigation, closed circuit television (CCTV) sewer pipe inspection, MISS Utility and asset inventory (including block map management);
- Work with management-level team members and the Engineering Division for planning and implementing utilities programs and projects in such work areas as water and sewer vertical asset maintenance that includes preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, repairs and retirement for pump stations, water storage tanks, water system control valves, and a networked computer control and monitoring system;
- Work to plan and schedule service for water and sewer customers, internal city customers, regulators, other utilities, support organizations, community members, and public utility stakeholders;
- Manage permitting processes with regulatory agencies and inspectors;
- Order components, complete invoicing, and reconcile receipts organized in applicable project files;
- Assist with the training program, including the development and organization of training material, curriculum, and schedules for division staff team members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates/Technical degree with coursework in project documentation coordination, contract management, construction, engineering, or related field and moderate (1-3 years) experience in the public works and/or public utilities field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be used to meet this requirement.
- Valid driver's license.
- Asset management certification and project management certification (Project Management Institute endorsement) or training preferred but not required for consideration;
