Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist in providing care, supervision and learning activities to preschool age children in a Head Start preschool classroom environment; tutor individual or small groups of students; assist with planning and implementing a variety of activities to meet the needs and interests of children; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans; provide routine clerical support.

Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent and completion of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE)/Child Development (CD) from a regionally accredited college/university, including core classes of Child Growth & Development, Programs/Curriculum, and Child, Family, & Community.
Experience: Six months of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program working as least three (3) hours per day within the last two (2) years.
Other: Bilingual/Spanish desired.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification. Valid California Child Development Associate Teacher or higher permit or ability to qualify for the permit. Valid Food Handler’s Card. Immunization for Measles (MMR), Pertussis (T-dap), and Flu Shot
WORK YEAR AND WORKING HOURS:
“J-2”; 4 hours, 176 days; 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Hours are subject to change.
“J”; 5 hours, 129 days; 10:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Hours are subject to change
Salary Info
Range 38 of the Classified Salary Schedule C. Family medical and dental benefits available at 71.43% District paid.
