The Arc of the Quad Cities Area seeks a Mail Clerk Lead at The Rock Island Arsenal Clock Tower Building!
This position is scheduled to work 37.5 hours a week, every Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
What does a Lead Mail Clerk do? What are their job responsibilities?
- Coordinate production activities, such as managing the government mailroom and contracts, with care, ensuring everything meets quality and deadline standards.
- Offer helpful assistance to staff whenever needed.
- Provide thoughtful training and supervision for personal care and active treatment, always following safety guidelines and creating a positive, welcoming environment.
- Take care of all related paperwork quickly, including payroll, work, and program records.
- Be versatile with clerical duties for all assigned mailroom tasks, such as receiving, sorting, packaging, and mailing with the correct postage.
- Manage supplies and equipment wisely, requesting new stock as needed to keep things running smoothly.
- Respect confidentiality at all times, adhering to agency and government standards.
- Prepare for and attend client staffing and IDTs, and provide on-the-job support to staff whenever requested.
What qualifications do I need for this position?
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required. College work preferred
- One year of typing experience with basic computer knowledge required
- One year of clerical/mailroom experience preferred.
- Strength and flexibility to lift equipment and supplies
- Ability to interact professionally with others both verbally and in writing.
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and ability to provide (own vehicle) transportation of consumers and mail as assigned.
- Demonstrate ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks independently.
- Experience in programming with individuals with developmental disabilities or other specialized populations is preferred.
- Certification: Directive Service Provider certification preferred or the ability to obtain within 120 days of employment.
