The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) Department supports Raytheon by providing world class technical expertise and engineering leadership to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems, Sensors, and Effectors. The LWMDS department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support Raytheon’s Land and Air Defense Systems (L&ADS) business area from our Huntsville, AL location. LWMDS Department Systems Engineers solve technical challenges at the System of System (SoS), System, Subsystem, and Component levels.
This is an Onsite role in Huntsville, AL.
What You Will Do
- The individual will perform Systems Engineering activities on one or more of our many programs.
- Support programs which may include: Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS), Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR), Radar Development Contract (RDC), Standard Missile, and other sensor or effector programs.
- The individual will be responsible for developing requirements, systems architecture and design, updating and maintaining Interface definitions & description documents and radar systems engineering
- Collaborating with other stakeholders such as customers and engineers from inside and outside of Raytheon.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) obtained by Spring 2026
- MATLAB and/or C++ experience
- Experience or coursework in System Design
- This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

- Cumulative 3.00 GPA
- Modeling and Simulation experience
- Ability to analyze issues and define solutions
- Strong communication skills including effective written, verbal, and listening skills
- Self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information and solve problems
- Proven strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Basic Engineering skills and interest in how systems are developed and function
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to solve problems and seek out additional resources
