SUMMARY
This position is responsible for full-cycle processing of Strategic Capital Investment invoices, including sorting, classifying, and entering into the General Ledger for payment. This position is responsible for the review of all related transactions for completeness, accuracy, and proper authorization. The position also assists in preparing, adjusting, and closing journal entries; reconciling vendor accounts; tracing and adjusting errors; and maintaining files and records pertaining to Accounts Payable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review and process capital investment invoices, ensuring alignment with purchase orders and project budgets
- Verify proper coding to capital accounts and ensure compliance with capitalization policies
- Ensure compliance with state and local use tax requirements by accurately applying correct tax rates to capital investment transactions
- Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments
- Maintain accurate vendor records and ensures W-9 and tax documentation is up to date
- Prepare month-end accruals and account reconciliations
- Record journal entries into G/L and uploads G/L into computer system
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to capital AP transactions
LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides guidance and leadership to business partners regarding cash management, transaction activities, and vendor account activity. Must be able to work in and contribute to a small team environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 5 years of Accounts Payable experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SAP knowledge and experience required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Needs the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and to other employees in the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
