This candidate will bring a great work ethic, positive energy and a desire to build your career in accounting and operations. We are building a high-performing team, focused on providing value to our customers, accurate financial reporting, and quickly delivering results with a strong sense of urgency and accountability. This position reports to the Manager, Accounting.
In this role, you will
- Ensure accounting processes are completed timely, accurately, and efficiently including the recording of journal entries and preparation of account reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements for month-end close
- Analyze general ledger accounts and financial information to identify variances, resolve discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy
- Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve accounting issues, ensure proper coding of transactions, and improve financial processes
- Support quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Perform key SOX controls, maintain process documentation, and identify opportunities for risk mitigation
- Drive process improvement and automation opportunities that scale with growth and create positive change across the organization
- Assist with ad hoc requests and special projects
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong understanding of financial and operational controls
- Ability to understand and interpret basic financial statements
- Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Interested in identifying opportunities for process improvement and a proactive approach to solving accounting or operational issues
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain organized records
- Attention to detail resulting in consistent, reliable, and accurate work product
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to manage their time efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
Desirable Qualifications
- CPA
- Experience using NetSuite
- Experience working in early stage and/or growth stage companies
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Adaptability and learning agility
- Strong problem-solving skills
The base salary range for this position is $69,000 - $103,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
