We have a brand-new opportunity to hire a GC Laboratory Technologist and to work at our newly renovated and expanded, state-of-the-art facility in Wayne, NJ! This GC Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for controlling and releasing raw materials and finished products, analyzing them by GC/FID or GC/MS, as well as supporting other Quality Control activities needed. Interacts with other internal Departments and affiliates.
Key competencies: Interpersonal Skills, Knowledge of Safe Lab Practices, Computer Software (SAP) and Openlab/ChemStation Skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for completing assigned projects in a timely and professional manner.
- Responsible for GC sample preparation, programming sequences and for the analysis of volatile fragrances and a variety range of raw materials.
- Operate and maintain GC/MS and GC/FID instruments (preventive maintenance and metrological monitoring).
- Create accurate and complete profile reports, reprocess GC profiles, and identify molecules by GC/MS in case of detected anomalies.
- Provide analytical support to many interlocutors as needs arise (R&D, Operations, Purchasing, Regulatory, Customers …)
- Other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Chemistry (Analytic, Organic), Chemical Technology, or another related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with GC/FID and GC/MS analysis and instrument maintenance.
- Experience in Fragrance or Flavor industry desired, in a similar position.
- Nice to have: GC method optimization and development

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, geographic location, and applicable legal considerations. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is awarded based on both individual and company performance.
