SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Support Center Technician will provide desktop, laptop, phone and software support to all US Conec  employees. 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned): 

  • Install, configure, maintain, and repair all desktops, laptops, cell and desk phones (all related hardware and software.) 
  • Assist with document procedures for installation, optimization, testing, tracking and tuning for the various configurations of user equipment and systems. 
  • Follow industry standards and facility procedures and practices to install and maintain personal computer and server software. 
  • Provide user support for varied software applications. 
  • Maintain and monitor local backups for individual equipment and systems. 
  • Assist with adding and maintaining unique hardware, software and related needs to support technical functions across the business, such as Research and Development, Manufacturing, and Metrology. 
  • Maintain preventive maintenance programs for workstations, servers, and related network equipment. 
  • Add and maintain local and network scanners, copiers, and printers 
  • Assist with supporting and maintaining identified key systems, such as wireless, cell phones, structured cabling, telecom/VOIP systems, conference room A/V, and electronic communication boards. 
  • Assist and train users in proper utilization of personal computer programs and software packages. 
  • Evaluate and recommend available software and equipment to support user requirements across the business. 


EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • A+ Certified or equivalent experience 
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering considered a plus. 
  • Experience in workstation maintenance 
  • Current Microsoft Windows/Server platform experience 
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize 
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills 
  • Proven experience in Support Center/troubleshooting preferred 
  • Microsoft network structure familiarity preferred
