JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing guest service that results in sales of Western Store merchandise and promotions. Will cashier, replenish stock, arrange displays, and maintain store cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide the highest level of customer service by using guest services standards which include greeting and acknowledging guests in a friendly manner, and using the customer’s name whenever possible.
  2. Learn and become proficient in the use of the POS System and process transactions within department guidelines for all approved payment methods.
  3. Attend sales meetings.
  4. Stay informed regarding all existing and new stock items for better-promoting customer sales.
  5. Promote customer satisfaction by coming out from behind the counter and engaging in conversation with customers.
  6. Assist guests by providing product knowledge on all merchandise sold in the Western Store.
  7. Will assist with checking in merchandise which includes unpacking and hanging new merchandise, tagging, and stocking sales floor pricing new merchandise, and putting freight away in an organized manner.
  8. Maintains tidiness and organization by regularly cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning mirrors, etc., and all areas of the store as needed.
  9. Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy, bulky items onto shelving, including overhead when changing displays or replenishing products.
  10. Promotes a clean, safe, healthy work environment by using all equipment, tools, and materials safely.
  11. Promote internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior toward co-workers and supervisors.
  12. Handle guest inquiries and or concerns efficiently and cordially, referring difficult situations to the supervisor.
  13. Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
  14. Promote teamwork through punctual, responsible attendance which includes promptness regarding breaks, meal periods, and reporting to the workstation.
  15. Promptly report all concerns to the supervisor.
  16. Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS:

  1. Retail Pro Point of Sale System
  2. Storage areas.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Three (3) months of cash handling and three (3) months of customer service experience.
  2. Will Stand for long periods: handle and maneuver bulky 50 lb. boxes; perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
  3. High School Diploma or GED or ten years experience.
  4. Effective communication skills - verbally instructs, responds to questions, and has exceptional interpersonal skills and abilities.
  5. Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  6. Requires a criminal history background check.
  7. Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge and experience in the Western fashion world; the western, farm, and ranch way of life; rodeo and equestrian fields.
