Westonka High School is accepting resumes for the position of Head Girls Lacrosse Coach. Interested candidates should hold a passion for not only coaching at a high level, but creating a program culture that encompasses an approach to mentoring, educating and developing student athletes in all phases of their development through a comprehensive year round approach that doesn’t impact a multi-sport athlete in a negative way.
Position Starts: April 2026
Compensation - $4,831 - $5,231 (depending on prior experience)
Qualifications:
Organize a detailed plan for in-season and out of season player development to include daily practice plans and long term goal setting.
Strong motivation to promote our strength and conditioning program (in and out of season).
Provide the student-athletes with educational support and guidance.
A detailed plan for program fundraising to include short and long term program and facility goals.
Strong desire to help promote a high level of leadership in the program that helps create student-athletes that use great sportsmanship and leadership skills on and off the field.
Drive to perform community service along with team building events.
Provide college recruiting assistance and/or post-secondary planning.
Provide strong leadership and organization of the entire program to include clear communication and vision to all stakeholders (Asst Coaches, Athletes, Parents, etc.)
Coach/Advisor Responsibilities: Normal Circumstances is being offered the position before any timelines have been exceeded.
Under normal circumstances, practice schedules must be turned into Activities Director a minimum of 3 months prior to the start of the season. This will help ensure the program can get space as needed and can work with other programs who need space.
Under normal circumstances, the non-Conference Schedule must be completed 6 months prior to the start of the season.
Under normal circumstances Assistant Coaches/Advisors should be approved and in place 3 months prior to the start of the season.
Under normal circumstances Head Coaches/Advisors and assistants if possible should work to build relationships with the youth program.
Under normal circumstances Head Coaches/Advisors should order all supplies for the upcoming season a minimum of 3 months prior to the start of the season.
Under normal circumstances Head Coaches/Advisors will plan a detailed plan for in-season and out of season player development to include daily practice plans and long term goal setting.
Under normal circumstances Head Coaches/Advisors will work with the Activities Director to plan any facility improvements and have a plan to fundraise if necessary. These plans and communication should be ongoing throughout the year.
Under normal circumstances Head Coaches/Advisors who have a Booster Club will attend monthly Booster meetings.
Under normal circumstances Head Coaches/Advisors will complete the transportation requests 1 month in advance of the start of the season for the upcoming season for all levels.
Under normal circumstances Head Coaches/Advisors will have a plan to perform community service along with team building events. This should be approved and reviewed with the Activities Director at the Pre-Season Meeting.
Head Coaches/Advisors will provide a date for the pre-season meeting, banquet and team photo day at least 3 months prior to the start of the season.
Under normal circumstances Head Coaches/Advisors will submit a request for new uniforms 8-9 months prior to the start of the season.
Under normal circumstances Head Coaches/Advisors will submit STP dates/camp/clinics and plans to the Activities Director in January of the current year for approval to be submitted to CE for reservation and class building for registration.
