Denver International Airport (DEN) is seeking a Fleet Stockkeeper Specialist (Stockkeeper III) to join our Materials Management team specializing in the Fleet parts department.

Furlough Days 
The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Saturday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s). 

What You'll Do

In this role, you will join a small team of Stockkeepers that will specialize in Fleet parts and coordinate with vendors and customers while serving as a vehicle parts subject matter expert for light, medium, heavy, special, and multi-function vehicles and equipment. You will perform full performance-level stockroom duties with an emphasis on identifying, researching, and ordering vehicle/equipment parts and services from various vendors, based on best delivery, cost, and quality. You will also maintain records to verify that customer needs are being met and pricing is competitive and timely. This position will serve as a backup for the Fleet Stockroom Supervisor and help by providing related reports, metrics, and updates. 

As Stockkeeper III, you can expect to:

  • Order necessary parts from the appropriate vendor and determine price and availability.
    of shipment.

  • Track/monitor incoming parts using purchase orders and keep customers informed on status.

  • Charge part to the appropriate customer.

  • Inform staff of any delays or pricing revisions to ensure that customers are aware of current parts status.

  • Handle return of warranty, defective, incorrect and unnecessary parts to the appropriate vendors within their guidelines to receive appropriate credits promptly.

  • Package all parts for return in the appropriate manner.

  • Keep records to track all returned parts

  • Follow-up to ensure the proper credits are received.

  • Keep organized records of parts ordered and recommend additions to inventory so that parts are available when needed.

  • Review all customer special orders. Work with Stockkeepers on Purchase Requisition creation analyzing the best vendor to utilize while also researching alternate vendors for parts availability as a backup.

  • Evaluate existing stock levels for Fleet Maintenance parts and adjust minimum quantity and reorder point as needed.

  • Work with Fleet Preventive Maintenance Planner to insure parts are available as needed for planned work.

  • Work with Stockroom Supervisor to create and maintain written reports that will aid in research, analysis, and tracking of parts.

  • Cultivate, foster, and maintain positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation and support. Work as liaison between Stockroom counter, Receiving, and the leadership team resolving problems encountered during daily operations and determines methods for prevention of problem reoccurrence.

  • Set up procedures to work as a back-up for the Stockroom Supervisor as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Location and Schedule

  • 100% on site. Employee parking will be provided.

  • Sunday through Wednesday.

  • 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM MST

  • This position supports mandatory on-call snow operations, which will require overtime.

  • Shifts will vary based on the needs of the organization. Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to change.

What You'll Offer

We are looking for individuals who exhibit strong attention to detail, a high degree of self-accountability, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. In addition, candidates should demonstrate the following skills and experience: 

  •  At least 3 years as a Stockkeeper/Parts counter

  • Previous experience in large scale inventory

  • Previous experience with Inventory Software, Maximo or similar software and online catalogue experience.

  • Strong Microsoft Suite experience, Workday.

  • Experience with Supplier/Vendor Management

  • Strong Customer Service skills

  • Automotive and Maintenance parts experience

  • Previous experience with Invoicing, P card responsibilities, tracking purchases

  • Detail orientated

  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently without supervision.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate. 

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of stockroom experience receiving, stocking, issuing, and maintain inventory records of parts, equipment, supplies, or materials, to include purchasing experience.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

  • License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment. 

 

FBI Background Check 

FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required 

Shift Work, Snow Duties, and Emergency Incidents 

This position does require shift work as DEN is a 24/7/365 operation (includes nights, weekends, and holidays)Mandatory extended/additional shifts can be requiredAdditionally, this position is required to work mandatory snow duties, which vary and can include nights, weekends and holidays.
