As our first Australia-based Financial Controller you'll provide financial management, strategic insights, and operational support to CFC Australia's insurance underwriting business, helping manage and drive our significant growth plans. Additionally, you'll oversee all accounting, controls, and tax for the entire of CFC Australia's operations (including a Cyber Security company and nascent Claims entity), ensuring regulatory compliance and managing external audits. This role involves close collaboration with Group Finance based out of our global HQ in London
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial management support to the Managing Director and Management of CFC Australia, ensuring appropriate financial input and advice is provided to help manage the business day-to-day and to ensure profitable growth.
- Lead the CFC Australia annual budgeting and periodic forecast processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategic objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis and performance reviews to identify opportunities for cost control and revenue optimisation.
- Collaborate with senior management and department heads to align financial strategies with business objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
- Develop, implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Support the CFC Group develop and roll-out an Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including those related to Insurance Broking Accounting (IBA) for CFC Australia.
- Ensure appropriate finance resources with the required skills and experience are in place to deliver the requirements of the function. Ensure timely recruitment of new or replacement team members as required.
- Manage the Australia Finance team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring adherence to all CFC policies and procedures.
