The Delivery Manager is responsible to ensure the reliable and efficient delivery of our products and to control related costs. The Delivery Manager must be able to motivate, direct and lead the delivery department to maximize the achievement of all pre-determined objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
▪ Effectively and efficiently ensures a smooth and consistent operation within the daily work activities for the Delivery Team
▪ Maintains quality of distribution for the Company
▪ Sets-up and maintains ride-with schedule for Delivery Team Leader
▪ Sets-up tracking and measuring for damage, breakage, returns and load schedule
▪ Sets monthly goals on PFP for Delivery team
▪ Effectively manages rotation policy to ensure compliance with Company standards
▪ Promotes and monitors useful measures to minimize all spoilage and damage created by Driver/Salesmen and Route Assistants
▪ Actively reviews applications and interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements
▪ Responsible for the overall supervision, training and development, motivation, coordination, and evaluation of the Delivery Team Leaders
▪ Proactively coaches and motivates all subordinate employees
▪ Effectively addresses employee concerns, disciplinary actions and resolves problems
▪ Ensures all employees in the Delivery Department understand how the Company is performing and what contribution they make toward Company goals
▪ Coordinates and tracks all vehicle assignments daily
▪ Maintains a quarterly truck/vehicle inspection
▪ Complies with all supplier requirements regarding product handling, or exchange
▪ Ensures proper procedures are followed for syncing delivery units
▪ Demonstrates effective communication methods
▪ Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers
▪ Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customers
▪ Ensures the Director of Operations and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions
▪ Accounts reflect effective communication with all levels of the Company
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & REQUIREMENTS
▪ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, finger, or feel; or to reach with hands and arms
▪ The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
▪ The employee is frequently required to walk
▪ Must possess the ability to lift and/or move over 50 lbs.
▪ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Qualifications
High school diploma; some college preferred
A minimum of three years management experience; management in distribution preferred
Clear motor vehicle record for the past three years
Valid Class A CDL
Ability to influence employees to perform to the best of their ability
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations
