Position Purpose:

  • The Accountant for Reliable Aftermarket Parts Inc. is responsible for monitoring general accounting practices, budgeting, developing internal accounting controls, and building a strong financial team. The successful candidate for this position will report directly to our General Manager/CEO and play an instrumental role in the financial future of the company. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation
  • Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability
  • Examine accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department
  • Report to the General Manager and CEO the finances of Reliable Aftermarket Parts Inc.
  • Review records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts
  • File taxes so that all requirements are met while avoiding overpayment
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department such as; Month and Year-end process, Accounts payable/receivable, Cash receipts, General ledger, Payroll and utilities, Treasury and budgeting, Cash forecasting, Revenue and expenditure, variance analysis, Capital assets reconciliations, Trust account statement reconciliations, Check runs, Fixes asset activity, and Debt activity
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Meet financial accounting objectives
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Work Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field 
  • 4+ years of related job experience 
  • Advanced computer skills using MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

 

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

 

Hours

  • Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM with a 30-minute lunch break
