Short Order Cook/Kitchen Manager 

Job Summary:

This is a hands-on supervisory cooking position.  In conjunction with the Lodge Manager, the Kitchen Manager will continue to grow the coffee shop business and assist with the day-to-day management of the kitchen operations of the Mountaintop Lodge at Lake Naomi. 

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast for B&B guests and coffee shop patrons, managing multiple orders simultaneously.

  • Execute made-to-order menu items (sandwiches, salads, soups) and baked goods for the coffee shop.

  • Perform diverse cooking methods (griddle, sauté, baking, mixing, soup-making, etc.) with consistency and quality.

  • Handle food preparation including cutting, chopping, dicing, slicing, and making sauces, dressings, and batters.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen visible to guests, assisting with dishwashing, trash, and general cleaning as needed.

  • Ensure strict food safety practices, including proper handling, cooking temperatures, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.

 

Required skills:

 Education and experience:

  • HS Diploma required.  

  • 2+ years as a short order cook required

  • Prior kitchen management/supervisory experience preferred.
