Summary/Objective
The Tool Crib Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the tool crib, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and distributed to support manufacturing or maintenance activities efficiently. This role requires managing inventory levels, tracking tool usage, and coordinating with various departments to meet their tooling needs promptly. The coordinator will implement and maintain organizational systems to optimize tool availability and reduce downtime caused by tool shortages or malfunctions. This position plays a critical role in supporting operational productivity and maintaining a safe, organized, and cost-effective tool management environment

- Manage the receipt, storage, issuance, and return of tools and equipment to authorized personnel.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems and conduct regular audits to prevent loss or misplacement.
- Coordinate with maintenance, production, and procurement teams to forecast tool requirements and schedule timely replenishments.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to tool handling, and maintenance.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in inventory management or tool crib operations, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with inventory management software or databases.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and handle tools and equipment safely.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to tool handling and storage.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1st shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm, or 2nd shift – 3:30pm to midnight, 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
