The Grant Writer is responsible for helping to secure, document, and track corporate, association, foundation, and government grants for Food Bank of the Rockies, contributing to the team’s annual revenue goals. This position works in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The Grant Writer works cross-departmentally to ensure alignment and funding of key initiatives for the organization.

The mission of Food Bank of the Rockies is to ignite the power of community to nourish people facing hunger. We provide food and necessities to people in need through signature programs and by teaming up with hundreds of Hunger Relief Partners to serve communities across Colorado and Wyoming. Primary Responsibilities:
- Contribute to high-quality and on-time grant proposal and report submissions, including writing and document compilation
- Conduct prospect research to identify new grant funding opportunities
- Help manage timelines and grant deadlines across departments
- Prepare, compile, and maintain updated grant proposal and report attachments, information requests, and narratives
- Support the stewardship of foundations, corporations, associations, and government entities
- Communicate grant awards via the necessary channels to ensure internal grant compliance with the programs and finance teams
- Help coordinate social media requirements, recognition, and applicable publicity for grant awards and announcements with the marketing and communications team
- Maintain complete and up-to-date records in Raiser's Edge, including grant documentation, and enter all relevant notes and actions in donor records
- Monitor paperwork and maintain records for grant restrictions and deliverables in hard copy and electronically
- Handle the administration of grant-related activities, including acknowledgements and record-keeping
- Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring the privacy and respect of employees, volunteers, partners, donors, or others
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Commitment to fulfilling the Food Bank of the Rockies mission and positively representing the brand both internally and externally
- Excellent ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple project timelines simultaneously
- Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-through skills
- Excellent writing and editing experience
- Ability to effectively communicate and get work done with others

- Ability to communicate persuasively and articulately both verbally and in writing

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelors' Degree in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least two years of prior experience with grant writing
- Prior experience and comfort reading and working with financial documents preferred
- Prior experience and familiarity with Raiser's Edge or donor management software preferred
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a non-exempt, full-time position working approximately 40 hours per week.
Work schedules may vary each week and consist of weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays, but primarily stay within the core business hours of Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. A flexible work schedule is available with the option to work remotely in the Denver Metro area. In-person work is required a minimum of one-two days per week, or more often based on organizational need.
