How You Will Help
- Issue and manage purchase orders based on demand plans, MRP signals, and replenishment needs.
- Monitor order confirmations, shipment schedules, and delivery timelines to ensure on-time fulfillment.
- Monitor and respond to action messages including planned orders, cancels, and expedites.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP systems.
- Track and report on supplier delivery performance, lead time adherence, and quality metrics.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure compliance with lead times, shipping schedules, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery delays, order discrepancies, and service issues.
- Escalate recurring performance issues and support corrective action processes.
- Work closely with planning and inventory teams to ensure material availability across distribution centers and production plants.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential shortages or overstock situations.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives and cycle count accuracy.
- Assist, where needed, to resolve quality issues and inventory shortages because of defective inventory
- Partner with production, logistics, and quality teams to align material flow with operational needs.
- Support new product launches and engineering changes by ensuring timely material readiness.
- Communicate order status and supply risks to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, supplier communications, and performance data.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., M3, SAP) and planning systems (e.g., Blue Yonder, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers and understanding of international logistics.
- Knowledge of supplier performance metrics and reporting tools.
- APICS or ISM certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
