Full Stack AI Engineer presso Gloo

The Opportunity:

As a Full Stack AI Engineer, you’ll help design and ship the next wave of AI-powered experiences at Gloo. You won’t be doing it alone — you’ll be part of a collaborative team where you’ll learn from experienced engineers while contributing real features that touch thousands of users.

On any given day you might:

• Pair with a senior teammate to extend a Next.js UI that connects to a new AI service.
• Write Python endpoints to integrate with a retrieval pipeline.
• Jump into a PR review to learn best practices and sharpen your skills.
• Help refine our CI/CD workflows to make deploying safer and faster.

This is a role for someone eager to grow into full-stack ownership while contributing meaningful work from day one. You’ll get hands-on with modern AI tools and cloud-native systems — and you’ll do it alongside a team that values learning, mentorship, and purpose-driven impact.   This is a hybrid position working out of our office in Sewickley, PA.

We’re a curious, purpose-driven bunch who love tackling hard problems together. Some days we’re deep in Docker configs, other days we’re debating prompt design or sketching UI flows on a whiteboard. What You’ll Do:

• End-to-End Engineering – Design and build features across the stack: databases, APIs, automated testing, and user interfaces using React/Next.js and modern JavaScript libraries.
• AI-Native Development – Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval workflows into real product features, supporting trusted data handling and AI-driven content solutions.
• Cloud & Scale – Architect and optimize secure, cloud-native systems with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments that can scale to serve diverse users.
• Performance & Security – Enhance application resiliency, stability, and security so our products stay reliable under heavy throughput.
• Collaboration – Partner closely with product managers, designers, and AI engineers to deliver features that align with Gloo’s mission of enabling growth and human flourishing.
• Continuous Improvement – Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing suites, and internal tooling to ensure fast, high-quality releases.
• Knowledge Sharing – Learn, mentor, and contribute to team growth as we scale Gloo’s AI platform together.

What We’re Looking For:

• 1–2+ years experience building web applications on collaborative teams.
• Proficiency in React/Next.js (or similar) and Python for backend services.
• Familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts (prompt design, vector search, model integration).
• Growth mindset and ability to work autonomously in a collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills to make technical solutions clear and accessible.
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Job Location: Hybrid in Pittsburgh, PA area (Sewickley, PA)

Compensation: $90,000 - 115,000
