The Role
Liberty Science Center (LSC) is seeking dynamic and expressive performers to bring our Haunted House experience to life from September 10th to November 2nd. If you thrive on entertaining and delighting audiences, this is your stage! We're looking for enthusiastic talent ready to scare and thrill teen and adult guests in our Haunted House (Please note there will be no physical contact with our guests.) This role requires some combination of the following essential functions:
- Greet and welcome guests in character as they enter the Haunted House
- Perform in full costume and makeup to scare and entertain guests (ages 13+) for 7 or more hours, bringing your unique flair to the experience
- Assist in the artistic build and breakdown of the Haunted House
- Master the art of the jump scare from hidden spots or engage guests with captivating performances in the queue
- Command large crowds in queues with a calm and efficient presence
- Deliver rules and ensure a seamless flow of people, all while maintaining character
- Act as a guide and guardian for guests within the experience, providing direction, enforcing restrictions, and addressing safety concerns with a performer's touch
- Serve as an advocate for guests, promoting the interests of LSC by communicating with a variety of diverse guests to ensure a positive museum experience and resolving visitors’ concerns and complaints to their satisfaction and LSC’s
- Oversee and monitor the condition, presentation, and safety of the Haunted House and assist in the preparation and closing of all public spaces relating to the Haunted House
- Help with our spooky family-friendly experience as needed
Seasonal Haunted House Ambassadors report to the Senior Manager of Guest Experience.

Role Expectations
The Haunted House Ambassador is required to:
- Set the standard for others by having stellar attendance, being reliable, and providing exceptional guest engagement
- Be on time for all of your scheduled shifts from September 10, 2025, to November 2, 2025
- Conduct work with a positive and professional attitude, always in character
- Contribute to a positive, ensemble-based culture
- Follow all LSC and departmental policies and procedures
- Assist with upholding safety protocols and cleaning – even behind the scenes!

Classification and Schedule
The Haunted House Ambassador is a position that offers an opportunity to work a part-time schedule for a temporary period of time, specifically from September 10th to November 2nd. Shifts may range from 6-8 hours in duration.

- Saturday, October 11th: 9:30 am-5:15 pm
- Sunday, October 12th: 9:30 am-5:15 pm
- Monday, October 13th: 9:30 am-4:15 pm
- Saturday, October 18th: 9:30 am-5:15 pm
- Sunday, October 19th: 9:30 am-5:15 pm
- Friday, October 24th: 3:30 pm-9:30 pm

This role is non-exempt, meaning it is eligible for overtime for work that exceeds 40 hours in LSC’s standard work week runs from Saturday to Friday. All overtime must be approved in advance by the supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, crouch, scream, and wear a mask for long periods of time. The ability to lift and carry 30 pounds is required during the breakdown of the Haunted House. The position requires the ability to walk on concrete floors, climb stairs, bend/lift/stretch, tolerate high levels of noise and flashing lights, navigate crowds, and publicly speak. While working in costume, you may be exposed to latex.

Compensation & Benefits
The Haunted House Ambassador is compensated at a wage of $18.00/hour. Liberty Science Center also provides perks for all eligible part-time employees, including:
