Regional EHS Manager/H&S and loss prevention


Role Description: 
This role is responsible for the health, safety, and loss control programs execution within the plants at Ardagh Metal Packaging Europe (AMPE). The role is also a key point of contact for government and regulatory agencies.  The HSE Manager must have functional expertise across several competencies including health and safety, BSafe & Loss Control standards, and management systems.  The position also requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, influencing and engagement skills, business acumen, and change management.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the short and long-term health, EHS execution within the EU region, and ensuring the compliance with all applicable AMP, federal, state, and local regulations and standards are met.
  • Provides oversight and guidance for all EHS continuous improvement initiatives in the Region.
  • Work with global EHS to develop a common risk assessment that ensures the compliance with European and internal standards. Experience with HAZOP, FMEA and equivalent tools.
  • Ensure the risks are systematically identified assessed with actions addressed using organisational tools and techniques.
  • Validate the allocation of resources and monitor the implementation of CAPEX projects and budget planning to implement the actions plans
  • Promote programmes to evolve the safety culture, life-saving rules and implement behavioural safety programmes tailored to the needs of our organisation.
  • Design and deliver training programs on EHS procedures and awareness campaigns to promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead and support EHS incidents and near miss investigations to identify contributing factors and root causes and implement corrective actions applying the hierarchy of controls.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of EHS programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Carry out troubleshooting reviews, technical visits and surveys at plants whose HS KPI trends show a continuous worsening.
  • Implementing Loss Control and Fire protection standards with regular inspections and engineering controls and human element improvements.
  • EHS incident reports review and engaging with the plants to ensure sufficient quality in root cause analysis and the definition and transfer of corrective actions and lessons learned in all AMP-E locations
  • Standardization and harmonization of EHS programs within the region.
  • Conducting internal audits and monitoring plant management systems for compliance with the requirements of ISO 45001 (Health and Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environment).
  • Monitoring, assessing and driving an effective implementation of internal standards, BSafe7! (Health and Safety) BGreen7! (Environmental) Bready! (Loss Prevention Standards)
  • Implementation of Health & Safety Best Practices across the region with materials, training sessions and regular follow-ups.
  • Any other activities that the company considers part of the role, such as participation in workshops, conferences, incident investigations, Audits, Safety walks and training.
  • This EHS Manager role will oversee several locations in Europe.

 

Requirements: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, EHS focus preferred (e.g. CSP, CMIOSH, ENSHPO Certifications)
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in Dutch or Spanish or French or Polish
  • Legal EHS, Basic certification of Fire Prevention and / or Risk Prevention are required
  • NEBOSH National Diploma for H&S Professionals or equivalent as minimum
  • NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent preferred
  • Certified Machinery Expert CMSE® (LOTO, Machine Safety) is required
  • ISO 45001, 14001 & 50001 Manager/Internal Auditor is required
