ABOUT THIS CONTRACT CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald’s Southwest team is looking for a part-time Concierge to work with the Facilities Maintenance & Operations department until the end of September 2025.  The Concierge will be responsible for ‘front desk’ operations at the Ron Joyce Centre from Monday through Friday, (from 20-30 hours per week).  

  • Respond to all staff, student & visitor inquiries in a respectful & efficient manner.
  • Document important information during each concierge shift in the Daily Logbook.
  • Continuously and accurately maintain/amend class schedules/room booking schedule in DSB Connect.
  • Each shift - note & communicate building system alarm status as per the Building Automation System.
  • Monitor performance & communicate directly with transportation service provider as required, escalating to the Facility Supervisor when necessary.
  • Interface with building security personnel on a continuous basis to ensure that the safety of all personnel is being overseen adequately. Escalate concerns to the Facility Coordinator when/as required.
  • Maintain & monitor critical key box located at Front Desk.
  • Assist on-site Facility Coordinator/Day Concierge to ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract requirements, including providing support in event coordination.
  • Assist on-site Facility Coordinator/Day Concierge to oversee tasks relating to service, preventative maintenance performance, work order performance, and subcontractor supervision.
  • May on occasion be asked to work additional hours during weekdays or the weekends

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • A college diploma in business administration (or equivalent facility experience and knowledge)
  • 1-5 years’ experience  in a coordination or administrative role preferred
  • Facility coordination experience would be considered an asset
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Intermediate competency in computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications
