Job Description:

In support of Production Operations, our team members support everything from receiving to packing and shipping of materials. The warehouse is at the core of our operations, assuring that team members and our customers get the materials they need to be successful.

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment in America.

Meet The Team:

The Procurement team's mission is is responsible for maintaining the Tool Room inventory of tools, consumables, and supplies to comply with company processes and procedures. The Tool Management Specialist executes contracts with suppliers and fulfils services for all requirements, and will help manage the onsite calibration of tooling where possible. The position assists in analysis, controlling and managing the requirements and movement of all tools and supplies in the Tool Room. The role is also responsible in ensuring all tool processes and procedures are in compliance with regulatory requirements.

On the eastern border of Mississippi you’ll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. It’s here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your challenges:

Tool Room Inventory Management: 35%.

  • Responsible for inventorying and maintaining system records of all active tools and consumables
  • Perform daily cart inventory and replenish when required
  • Create system purchase requisitions for new requirements as needed
  • Create shipping documents and facilitate the shipment of outbound requirements
  • Perform manual and system Good Receipts for new deliveries
  • Assist in troubleshooting Tool Room and Supply issues

Tool and Supply Control and Management: 35%

  • Perform Daily Tool Audits to ensure all tools are accounted for
  • Perform Weekly Audits to ensure that tools and consumables are present, properly marked in the correct container, in serviceable condition, and checked for foreign objects in the tool containers
  • Track, and monitor the issuance and traceability of tools and consumables using logs and tool tags
  • Ensure items are stored in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and specifications
  • Assist with internal audits as required
  • Assist with the management of Electronic/Smart Toolboxes

Reporting, Records Administration, and Continuous Improvement: 15%

  • Assists with training for new hires
  • Create, maintain, and update system Tool Control records to retain historical records and provide current status
  • Scan and electronically store historical records. Maintains document storage and retention systems. Manage electronic documentation system for future retrieval

  • Problem Solving and Decision Making – identify problems and assist with the development and implementation of solutions

Tool Calibration: 15%

  • Participate in a monthly review of calibration due dates for all Tool Room tools
  • Perform daily in-house testing and recording results for all torque wrenches to assure they conform to NIST standards
  • Receive and Log tools for monthly calibrations
  • Manage the Tool Room environmental controls for tools per ISO/IEC - 17025
  • Participate in quarterly training for Calibration back-up(s)

  • High School graduate or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in tools, materials, or logistics management environment
  • Prior SAP or database experience Preferred
  • Experience working with Tool Room processes and procedures

  • Quality certification for tool calibration

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily
  • Equipment: Able to operate personal computer, telephone, fax machine and related equipment. Able to operate warehouse material handling equipment including forklift and cherry picker daily
  • Carrying: able to lift and carry material up to 50lbs daily
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull carts and small items up to 50lbs daily
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor daily
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): This position includes walking and standing most of the time
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
