Bistro Don Giovanni is one of Napa Valley’s most iconic restaurants, known for its warm hospitality, lively dining room, and Italian-inspired menu paired with an award-winning wine list. We are currently seeking experienced hosts to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, the host team plays a critical role in setting the tone for the dining experience. This position requires professionalism, warmth, and the ability to handle a fast-paced, high-volume environment with grace.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for polished, professional individuals who know how to make guests feel welcome from the moment they walk in the door. Our hosts are warm, composed under pressure, and confident in managing the flow of a packed dining room without losing sight of the small details. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, good judgment, and a sense of grace and calm to even the busiest nights. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting and take pride in creating a seamless guest experience, you’ll be a great fit for our front desk team.

Compensation

  • $18 per hour plus tips

Schedule

  • Full-time and part-time positions available

  • AM and PM shifts offered

  • Nights, weekends, and some holidays required

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of host experience in a busy, upscale restaurant or comparable hospitality environment

  • Conversational English skills sufficient for guest interaction, handling complex requests, and coordination with team members

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)

  • Ability to move quickly and manage a busy front desk and dining room environment

  • Ability to bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds

  • Comfort working in a high-energy, noisy environment with frequent guest interaction
