What to Expect
The Analytics Development & Operational Reporting Manager is responsible for the end to end delivery of ad hoc data extracts, operational reporting and visual analytics through enterprise-level platforms. This role will work closely with internal CDO teams, IT and Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to present large amounts of complex data in manner that is appealing, interactive and universally understandable to quickly identify patterns, trends and correlations that will enhance the overall decision making capabilities of the business.
What You Will Do
Data Consistency and Operational Reporting Development:
· Collaborate with Data Governance to ensure data used for visualizations and operational reporting is certified and consistent across all functional departments.
· Collaborate with internal CDO teams to develop and maintain clear, standardized and consistent reporting for operational departments.
· Continually enhance operational reporting to deliver quick and effective solutions that will easily integrate into day-to-day processes and optimize the overall workflow.
· Draft and maintain technical specifications, mapping/lineage documentation and work instructions for operational reporting.
· Track and document operational reporting development progress through HCA’s enterprise work intake system.
Visualization Enhancement and Development:
· Develop complex and interactive visualizations in a timely manner from requirements to deployment, utilizing the latest features and capabilities of HCA’s BI and analytics platforms.
· Monitor the performance and usage of visual analytics; continuously improving the presentation of data to keep it effective, relevant and engaging.
· Maintain current permissions groups and production schedules for timely refreshing of data and delivery to end users and stakeholders.
· Draft and maintain technical specifications and mapping/lineage documentation for visualizations.
· Track and document reporting and visualization development progress through HCA’s enterprise work intake system.
Data Management and Monitoring:
· Develop automated and repeatable logic for data extraction from centralized enterprise level data sources using Python, SQL or other tools.
· Troubleshoot data process issues in a timely manner and work with internal CDO teams and IT to develop short-term and long-term solutions.
· Draft and maintain technical specifications, mapping/lineage documentation and work instructions for managed data process.
· Track and document data process development progress through HCA’s enterprise work intake system.
What You Will Bring
· Minimum 5-7 years related experience with data reporting and analytics.
· Experience with Python and/or SQL required.
· Experience with Tableau or other similar data visualization/Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
· Knowledge of typical finance industry concepts and metrics a plus.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Proficiency in data query and management languages such as SQL or Python.
· Exposure to Cloud based data environments such as Amazon Redshift.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to explain complex systems and data succinctly.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated experience developing data & reporting process automation.
Work Environment
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, and using a computer. Work is performed in an office environment.
The posted salary range for this job takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. Successful candidates may be hired anywhere in the salary range based on these factors. It is uncommon to hire candidates at or near the top of the range.
