Description
The Area Manager of Continuous Improvement works in collaboration with all departments to support the business to improve and simplify existing processes. This role delivers sustainable operational improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity by participating in or leading projects, and additionally ensures that new processes contain and use continuous improvement methodologies. The Area Manager, Continuous Improvement, may engage exempt and non-exempt employees across all shifts and functional departments in the CI process and delivers appropriate LEAN/CI education for creating and sustaining a CI culture.
30%- Utilizes PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) and DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) methodologies to actively participate in continuous improvement projects that impact safety, quality, efficiency, and/or productivity.
15%- Applies E3 concept (Engage, Enable, Empower) within project activities to ensure project sustainability with affected work force, supervisors, and leaders
30%- Provide support to production supervisors and/or other managers that could include but is not limited to Quality, Distribution, Warehouse, Tech Services, and others to deliver operational improvements using Lean and continuous improvement methodology and tools
10%- Assist in identifying LEAN/CI needs and help develop implementation plans with Production and CI directors
10%- Participate in preparing LEAN/CI trainings to hourly and exempt employees as required
5%- Participate in monthly reporting regarding metrics, performance, and progress under the directions of Process Improvement Director. Collect and conduct preliminary analysis in preparation for meeting with appropriate Management. Represent division/department as needed at LEAN/CI events.

- % Travel Time- Possible 5% travel within Northtec, Melville and Canada
- LEAN certification/Six Sigma training or comparable preferred or must be able to complete with possible travel to NT facility. Professional communication skills and proven leadership capabilities, Project management experience preferred
