To design, develop, and implement advanced factory systems and processes. Support plant automation and manufacturing systems to ensure production and support needs are met. Apply theoretical principles and engineering techniques to produce systems that are reliable, serviceable, energy efficient and which use the latest technology available in the industry.

Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000 - $150,000 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You will Drive at DTNA:

  • Evaluate current production processes for improvement opportunities.

  • Recommend process changes and coordinate the implementation of these changes into production.

  • Coordination of Capital projects which includes researching vendor sources, request quotations, select vendors, developing justification, writing AFE, set due date, issue requisitions (coordinate with Purchasing), schedule tryouts, trouble shoot and approve equipment.

  • Analyze area's annual Capital Spending Plan for project feasibility and implement as deemed necessary in regards to SQDCM.

  • Assist in strategic planning by evaluating processes and identifying potential improvements

  • Oversee pre-series and product changeovers in area and report on findings.

  • Compile, analyze and respond to employee suggestion forms as required.

  • Maintain plant layout for area, develop alternative layout solutions to improve process flow, material presentation, material delivery, etc.

  • Review production transport, material delivery and storage requirements. Design, specify, order, and coordinate fabrication of required carts, dollies, racks, etc.

  • Review production tooling and fixture requirements. Design, specify, order, and coordinate fabrication of required tools and fixtures.

  • Maintain all ISO-9001 related documentation related to Manufacturing Engineering to insure compliance.

  • Establish and maintain visual management of ongoing (hot) projects.

  • Ensure engineering practices comply with government regulations and safety standards.

  • Assist Facilities maintenance in troubleshooting/supporting mfg.

  • Assist Facilities in supporting robotic and PLC controlled systems.

  • Review and update preventive maintenance procedures on automated equipment

Knowledge You Should Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience OR an Associates degree and 4 years of related experience OR 6 years of Daimler related experience is required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.

  • Proficiency with automation systems including robotics, conveyors, electronic control devices, CNC, PLC’s, and SQL servers.

  • Proficient in Transact SQL, experience with PLC database transactions, Web based systems, CNC programming, PLC ladder logic, and Visual Studio. Includes modifications or creating new applications to support production or strategic functions.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have:

  • Experience Operating or handling Robots
