Provide classroom instruction in health occupations, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, health science foundations, and related courses.
Develop and implement curriculum aligned with state CTE standards, industry expectations, and healthcare certifications.
Teach and assess essential employability skills such as professionalism, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Coordinate, schedule, and supervise students’ work-based learning experiences, including clinical rotations, job shadowing, and internships in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and other healthcare settings.
Maintain positive partnerships with community healthcare providers and serve as a liaison between students, schools, and worksites.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding student participation in clinical settings, including safety, confidentiality, and liability requirements.
Monitor and evaluate student performance in both classroom and clinical settings; provide timely feedback to students, parents, and employers.
Maintain accurate records of student competencies, certifications, and hours completed in work-based learning rotations.
Incorporate technology and hands-on learning strategies to engage students in real-world healthcare scenarios.
Support students in pursuing industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CNA, CPR, First Aid).
Uphold and model ethical standards consistent with the healthcare profession.
Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administrators to promote student success in career pathways.
Participate in professional development, advisory committee meetings, and program evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.
