Job Description
Provides SCADA system support for enterprise-wide projects. Works as a principal team member with other technical staff and members of the user community. Participates in the design and implementation of interfaces between systems, networks, middleware, databases, programmable remote terminal units and other distributed intelligent devices.
Independent support of critical water control and decision support systems during emergency and storm onslaught events as well as twenty-four/seven, immediate level 1, 2 and 3 responsibilities for problem determination and operational restoration for water control and decision support systems.
Has extensive knowledge in software customization and modification expertise and experience; custom application development; software supplier development management.
Complete knowledge and understanding of technology including SCADA applications; custom applications and systems integration; configuring and programming.
Employment Guidelines/Experience:
May be filled as a SCADA Systems Engineering Analyst
SCADA Systems Engineering Analyst- Senior: Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and/or 8+ years of experience of demonstrated technical competence supporting SCADA, real-time and communications systems.
SCADA Systems Engineering Analyst: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years' experience of demonstrated technical competence supporting SCADA, real-time and communications systems.
License(s) / Certification(s):
Valid State of Florida Driver's License required.
Physical Requirements/ Working Environment:
Due to the District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
Mostly sedentary in an office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products.
