Job Description
Terracon is currently seeking a part time on-call Field Scientist to join our growing Natural Resources Group in our Phoenix office. You will be working with the Environmental Planning staff throughout the Southwest to assist with Waters of the United States Delineations, Permitting, and Mitigation, and biological related services. Responsibilities will include field services, safety, data collection, and report preparation.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Independently performs site visits, field observations, and field data collection or assignments.
- Evaluates field data and assembles in written documentation.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- Provide consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
- May assist more senior scientists/engineers on large, more complex projects.
- Works under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with wetland delineation and CWA Section 404/401 permitting
- Knowledge of flora and fauna in desert southwest
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
- Bachelor’s degree
- Understanding of the Endangered Species Act
- Threatened and Endangered or Sensitive Species Certifications and/or Permits
- Experience in ArcGIS
