The Dean of the School of Business serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the school, fostering an environment of academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement. This role is responsible for aligning the school’s goals with the university’s mission, promoting faculty scholarship, enhancing student success, and strengthening relationships with industry partners.
Responsibilities
- Promote innovative, high-quality academic programs that prepare students for leadership in business, entrepreneurship, and global markets.
- Lead initiatives to achieve and maintain accreditation from relevant bodies (e.g., AACSB, ACBSP).
- Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement across undergraduate and graduate business programs.
- Support faculty research, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ensure academic programs remain relevant to current business trends and employer needs.
- Champion student recruitment, retention, mentoring, and career readiness initiatives.
- Partner with career services to expand internship, co-op, and employment opportunities for business students.
- Recruit, develop, evaluate, and retain a diverse and talented faculty and staff.
- Foster a collegial, inclusive, and collaborative culture within the school.
- Manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and pursue fundraising and grant opportunities.
Education
- Terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA, or equivalent) in business or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education, with a record of teaching, research, and service.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
