Office Support Clerk

Full Time – Hourly

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base hiring pay range for this role is between $16.13 - $22.58 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.

  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

The Office Support position is responsible for providing assistance to the Clerical Support person in various capacities. The following are the main responsibilities of the role:

 

Job Duties:

  • Assist with entering and maintaining records and files for egg production, mortality, body weights, bird inventory, daily flock sheets, etc. accurate.
  • Help keep accurate/current hatchery and breeder records for period-end closing.  Send reports and computer files to account and assist if there are questions.  
  • Perform any needed computer work for Year End or for the new fiscal year.
  • Help maintain inventory control, including but not limited to organizing and ordering supplies and services as requested by the Breeder Manager/supervisors.
  • Assist in new hire activities and other employee related incidents. Act as a bridge between HR and the division. Maintain strict confidentiality. 
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records including bill pay, Pcard organization, invoice submission and filing, etc.
  • Assist in Salmonella kit preparation and record keeping as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to all biosecurity measures as laid out in the company protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned by the clerical person and/or the manager.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • High school level math, reading & writing skills.
  • Able to work alone with little to no supervision
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to twist, stoop/bend and/or squat frequently.
  • Able to be on feet, walk on uneven surfaces, and work both inside and outside in varying degrees of temperature.
  • Basic understanding of computers and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
