A Bartender is responsible for all aspects of the bar ranging from preparation to service. They ensure that supplies and stock are at sufficient levels to accommodate business demands during their shift. They mix and serve drinks to customers during their shift, and account for all stock and supplies used.


Due to the nature of our business, this position is required to work weekends and holidays.



The day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:


General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares ordered drinks with proper portions and ingredients such as wine, liquor and related bar service to guests at assigned stations. 
  • Mixes drinks according to prescribed recipes; keeps station stocked with all liquor, glasses and accessories necessary; accounts for all beginning cash register bank, all cash, complimentary drinks and charge receipts. 
  • Operates a cash register, ringing the proper amount into the register and giving the guest or server the correct change. 
  • Possesses a keen sense of timing and is capable of discreetly speeding up or slowing down his/her station as necessary. 
  • Resourceful with beverages, fruit and supplies in order to maintain low beverage costs. 
  • Set up service items at the assigned bar. 
  • Inventory supplies at the bar at the beginning of their shift and requisition additional items as needed

Requirements

The requirements for this position include but are not limited to:


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Clean any spillage at the bar throughout the shift. 
  • Take and serve cocktail orders. 
  • Accept payment for cocktails as required. 
  • Count down register drawers and complete summaries. 
  • Log stock used during the shift. 
  • Maintains the appropriate appearance of the bar in accordance with county and Health Department standards. 
  • Ensures that all service items and stock is prepared for the shift. 
  • Remains attentive to the needs and requests of the customers. 
  • Treats customers with courtesy and respect. 
  • Follows all applicable safety procedures. 
  • Is at all times appropriately groomed and wears the uniform provided. 
  • Additional related duties as requested. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Work requires at least 1-year prior bartending experience. 
  • Must have knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes. 
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner. 
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions repeatedly. 
  • Visual ability needed to accurately measure ingredients for mixing drinks. 
  • Fast paced, high volume environment involving constant public interaction. 
  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting a minimum of 20 lbs repeatedly. 
  • Shifts may vary based on business needs.
