POSITION SUMMARY
Provides spiritual and emotional support upon request or referral for patients, their family, significant others, staff and community members who experience trauma, crisis, illness or other stress creating situations. Provides oversight and guidance to screened and approved community clergy volunteers who provide pastoral or spiritual care to patients, significant others, staff or community members. Provides oversight, support and guidance for other pastoral care
programs, such as CISM and grief support.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education: College education equivalent to Bachelor degree. All or significant part of formal education should emphasize care giving or helping profession training. Additional education or training required by individual's religious or spiritual organization, such as church, synagogue, reading room.synagogue, reading room. Validation or endorsement by individual's religious or affiliated spiritual organization or denomination. CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education); one or more units, or similar equivalent training specific to delivery of supportive spiritual and/or
emotional care.
Minimum Work Experience: 2 years prior experience in delivery of spiritual or pastoral care.
Required Licenses/Certifications: None
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills required to relate to a wide variety of individuals experiencing personal crisis, illness or trauma. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as analytical abilities and initiative to begin and complete projects and work independently. Must be selfmotivated, results oriented, and demonstrate integrity, honesty and a sense of mission and loyalty. Must have a pleasant demeanor,
professional appearance, and be effective in time management skills. Computer skills required, as necessary to prepare policies, forms, reports, or other documentation.
