General Position Description
The Staff Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with accounting principles, and assist in various financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Payment Management
· Follow established procedures for reviewing batches and releasing payments.
· Reconcile cash accounts.
General Ledger
· Reconcile and analyze various accounts, including but not limited to bank statements, credit cards and all general ledger accounts.
· Prepare and enter journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Month End Close
· Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all necessary entries and reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
· Monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and preparing associated journal entries.
Other Operational Tasks
· Assist with Business License Research and filings.
· Assist with Sales and Property Tax Filings.
· Assist in the preparation of internal/external audits as needed.
· Support the preparation of regulatory and compliance reports as needed.
· Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
· Special Projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
· Strong Excel skills preferred and performed proficiently; along with computer-based accounting software and all other Microsoft Office products.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
