Job Summary & Deliverables
The Autism Specialist provides developmental and educational services to children and adolescents with autism in a clinical setting or the home environment.
- Designs individualized programs for children and adolescents with autism to increase and develop social, communication, and behavioral skills
- Provides services within the assigned treatment setting - clinical setting or the client’s home. Homebased treatment assignments require access to reliable transportation.
- Designs specialized programs and teaching procedures for individual or small groups of clients to develop academic knowledge and ability through the application of behavioral techniques and procedures
- Charts the progress of assigned clients through weekly progress notes to ensure the ongoing evaluation of each client's strengths and opportunities
Requirements
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Three months of experience as an Autism Assistant or six months of direct client care experience
Licenses/Certifications
- CPR certification Valley de-escalation certification
- Driving positions require a minimum age of 21 and a current driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience working with individuals with autism
