Description of Position 

The Director of Academic Operations oversees the operational and student-facing functions of NNU Global, ensuring a student-centric approach that supports success and retention. This role supervises the Pathways Coordinators and the Customer Service and Schedule Coordinator while ensuring smooth and efficient processes for students. The Director has a unique ability to work with stakeholders, collaborating with many other departments on campus to ensure student support, smooth operational functioning, and institutional compliance. The Director of Academic Operations will supervise an area of academic programming, overseeing the outcomes and courses, liaising with other departments on campus to develop courses, and recruiting adjuncts.


Essential Functions 

  • Supervise and support the Pathways Coordinators and the Customer Service and Schedule Coordinator (as they are hired)
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of academic pathways for students to ensure clarity and alignment with program goals
  • Liaise with student accounts and financial aid departments to facilitate smooth financial processes for students 
  • Collaborate with student support services to ensure access to academic and non-academic resources
  • Develop and manage course schedules and maintain the PS catalog in partnership with the registrar
  • Monitor and lead process improvements to enhance the student experience and streamline operations (e.g. admissions, financial aid, onboarding, Nighthawks 360, graduation)
  • Oversee the tracking of student satisfactory academic progress (SAP), liaising with the Financial Aid office to ensure institutional and federal compliance
  • Liaise with the PSAC to ensure that programs are systematically assessed using meaningful indicators for program effectiveness and achieve stated student learning outcomes for all students (SLO)
  • Supervise an academic program in the accelerated undergraduate degree framework, overseeing the certificate outcomes and courses, liaising with other departments on campus to develop courses, and recruiting adjuncts
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

Required Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in education, business administration, or a related field
  • Experience in operations management or student services in higher education
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to improve and streamline student-facing processes


Preferred Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in business, education, leadership, or a related field
  • Experience working with adult learners and non-traditional students 
  • Familiarity with higher education systems and processes
  • Knowledge of student success strategies and resource coordination


Compensation 

Salary is determined based on educational background and experience.
