ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive HR Assistant to join our team at our Distribution Center located in Aberdeen, MD. This role supports the daily operations of the HR department and acts as a key point of contact for employees. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, approachable, and able to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced warehouse environment.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Perform clerical functions for the HR staff including maintaining accurate employment files
- Process status changes, terminations, and update employee information in HR systems.
- Support payroll processing through data entry and coordination with the payroll team.
- Review and maintain employee files
- Collaborate with key partners
- Compile data from the HRIS system and prepare reports
- Screen telephone calls and incoming mail
- Perform other related duties as assigned
WHERE YOU’LL WORK AND WHAT’S REQUIRED:
- Ability to work nights and weekends (for night shift role)
- Ability to work days and weekends (for day shift role)
- Ability to work overtime as needed
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in an HR support role; warehouse/distribution environment a plus.
- Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Ability to be professional, and respond urgently to the needs of the client and the business
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Oracle, Dimensions or familiar platforms).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
