We are looking for a forward-thinking, hardworking, and multi-tasking Infrastructure Operations Engineer who is passionate about learning and delivering every single day. You will join KAYAK's Operations team in our Berlin office and play a key role in the day-to-day support of our development and production environments. This role requires commuting to the Berlin office 3 times per week.
In this role, you will:
Process and triage inbound tickets from developers and business teams
Audit the monitoring of our production hosting platform
Coordinate the receipt and installation of server hardware in the data centers
Provide Linux-based operating systems
Work with the security team to execute security patching procedures
Schedule and perform regular upgrades of production software and operating systems
Provisioning of production resources in response to demand
Be part of an on-call rotation
In this role, you will not:
Perform IT tasks for users, like replacing mice, keyboards, etc.
Manage logins, groups, and email accounts for internal users
Designing and developing new services for the infrastructure
Working with AWS or GCP on a regular basis
Please apply if you have:
A university degree in Information Technology or equivalent certification (CKA, CKAD)
A strong understanding of Linux systems & knowledge of Linux shell scripting
Handsome Experience in Deploying On-prem Kubernetes Infrastructure
Good knowledge of end-to-end data center operations
Hands-on experience in writing Ansible, Terraform and Puppet
Experience with the following:
Jira / Atlassian products or other ticket systems
Logic Monitor or other monitoring technologies
Kibana / Elasticsearch
Meaningful experience in a similar role
