Essential Job Functions:
• Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and vendors
• Work with Port Captain to create, maintain and update boat schedules
• Enter orders/requisitions into purchasing system
• Track monthly deckhand bonus schedule
• Maintain DOT files and respond to DOT requests
• Assist Port Captain with letters of time as requested
• Assist with timekeeping/time entry in HRIS
• Scan documents to the electronic file management system
• Work with HR regarding boat personnel absences, related paperwork and return to work processes
• Prepare status change forms as needed for hires, changes, terminations
• Track deckhand and captain longevity pay due dates and deckhand promotions; prepare status change forms on same
• Follow-up with crew members on licensing updates
• Follow-up with deckhands on boat safety course requirement
• Coordinate with payroll to resolve payroll discrepancies
• Assist with HR on recruitment efforts including screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
• Help plan and execute employee engagement activities and training sessions.
• All other duties as assigned by management
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: At least two years of human resources or administrative experience is required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or a related field
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must possess, or be able to obtain a valid TWIC
