What to Expect:
As UGE continues to grow, the person hired for this position, will actively be involved in the expansion of our GSE department. As the GSE Maintenance Supervisor you will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair on various types of mechanical equipment and facilities. You will communicate effectively both verbally and via email to customers to provide status updates on their equipment. In addition, you will be responsible for all asset management, reporting, and enforcing UGE policy and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work environment. You will maintain records of all work performed and ensure compliance with all company regulations.
How you will make an impact:
Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Represent United Ground Express through meeting regularly with Sr Leadership on financial/reliability performance.
- Perform maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities.
- Asset management reporting and data entry through various systems.
- Execute complex maintenance assignments involving but not limited to automotive, electrical, systems and other related trade skill sets.
- Lead, train, mentor, and guide team of GSE Mechanics.
- Read and interpret repair manuals, basic electrical and hydraulic schematics, and supervisor/manager’s instructions.
- Work in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Assist in the development of training materials and process manuals.
- Conduct training and orientation as necessary for the Station’s programs.
- Follow and comply with all company and federally established policies and procedures.
- Utilize a computer to perform a variety of communications, training and administrative processes.
- Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company.
- Perform additional duties/assignments.
What you will bring:
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as heavy, medium, or light duty mechanic.
- Ability to read and understand basic electrical/hydraulic schematics.
- Must have own set of hand tools common to the trade.
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of general workplace safety requirements and procedures.
- Ability to effectively manage a team.
- Possible travel up to 35%.
- Knowledge of Excel or other forms of reporting
- Knowledge of equipment data collections systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in an airport environment.
- Strong hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting experience.
- State and/or ASE certification in automotive and diesel repair or associated field.
- 3+ years’ experience as a heavy, medium, or light duty mechanic.
- 1 year experience working in a CMMS.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures related to equipment repair.
- Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Teams, and Power Point
- Knowledge of FleetFocus, Spotfire and Sharepoint

Compensation Information:
Salary Range: $28.00-$30.00 (L7) Hourly
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
