Title: Dental Director
Base Salary Range: $184,589 - $210,000 plus benefits
FTE: Full-time, Exempt

General Summary: Responsible for providing leadership to the Dental Clinical Department and oversees all dental services, including primary, secondary and preventative dental care, and related functional areas. In addition, ensures that the mission and goals of the organization are realized through the professional and effective delivery of oral health services. The ideal candidate will have to perform some to following essential job duties.
- Provides clear guidance and direction to the Dental Clinic Department and responsible that all dental services are provided at the most effective standard while initiating quality improvement plan throughout the department within budgeted guidelines and according to federal, state and local laws
- Develops, implements and maintains Dental Clinic policies and procedures in order to delivery competent, accurate, dental care and treatment to all patients
- Demonstrates a strong business acumen as well as substantial knowledge and expertise in the dental sciences
- Analyzes, synthesizes and communicates complex data, clinical information, quality outcomes, business needs and related issues in an accurate, objective and straightforward manner
- Solves problems, and makes critical patient and/or management decisions supported by substantial financial analysis, clinical knowledge, and critical data-based decision making
- Directs, leads, coaches, and evaluates work activities of Dental Clinic staff within the department
- Provides direct patient care (40% of the time)
- Ensures the organization meets or exceeds all governmental, regulatory and accreditation standards in all areas of day to day operations
- Monitors trends, managing issues, and ensuring compliance with all clinical protocols and quality assurance guidelines while providing defined measurements of performance
- Manages and ensures positive relationships with the Bureau of Primary Health, HRSA, local and state health departments, other accreditation and related resources vital to the organization’s continued success
- Recruits, develops and directs a high performing team
Qualifications Licensure & Certifications:
- Graduation from an American Dental Association (ADA) approved dental school with DDS or DMD Degree
- Current, valid, and unrestricted California Dental License
- Current and valid DEA License
- Current BLS Certification
Experience Skills & Abilities:
- Must have minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience working in a community clinic or dental office at a Director or Manager level
- Familiarity and experience with standards and processes established by regulatory entities, including OSHA, CDC, and the ADA
- Knowledge of Next-Gen EDR, EHR, EPM, preferred
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing dental care clinical staff
- Knowledge of credentialing process, delineation of clinical privileges, and peer review for dental staff
- Knowledge of quality assurance and risk management standards and processes
- Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and written
- Excellent written, oral and customer service skills with patients, visitors, and staff
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills
- Computer knowledge, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), communication systems and internet search capabilities
- Ability to build and foster strong relationships with people across many levels and diverse backgrounds
- Must have proven ability to drive team and individual performance to reach or exceed key performance metrics.
