What You'll Do:

We’re looking for an Actuary to join our Financial Reporting team in Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS). In this role, you will be responsible for managing and providing expert guidance on complex actuarial valuations and financial reporting processes.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Calculate and analyze reserves across multiple accounting bases (US GAAP, US Statutory, and Tax).
  • Leverage your technical expertise and strategic thinking to ensure reasonable assumptions are used for financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with actuarial standards of practice.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will provide valuable insights and consulting to support business decisions, manage risks, and drive innovative solutions that enhance our financial reporting processes.
  • Lead and inspire a talented retirement valuation team, driving innovation in actuarial techniques and methodologies that shape industry-leading solutions
  • Be at the forefront of regulatory changes, serving as our compass to navigate complex compliance landscapes while developing creative, efficient solutions
  • Spearhead transformative projects as a subject matter expert, bringing your unique perspective to solve challenging problems and drive strategic initiatives
  • Mentor and develop future finance leaders, fostering an environment of growth, collaboration, and excellence
  • Build sustainable processes and infrastructure that position the team for long-term success, including automation, documentation, and knowledge-sharing frameworks

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, or global equivalent, 8+ years actuarial experience required
  • Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, the Actuarial Standards of Practice promulgated by the Actuarial Standards Board, and the Code of Professional Conduct of the AAA and the SoA is required
  • Basic knowledge of actuarial valuation and insurance company financial reporting.
  • Must maintain continuing education requirements as specified by the SOA or AAA
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • Knowledge of retirement and annuity products
  • Retirement and annuity valuation experience, including PBR valuations
  • Experience with modeling platforms or valuation systems (MG ALFA, CASE, Prophet, etc.)
  • Formal leadership experience
Salary Range Information:Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.Salary Range:$137000 - $185000 / yearTime Off Program:Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.Pension Eligible:YesAdditional Information:

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC, and Raleigh, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
