Overview:

PCSI is looking for a Mail Courier at National Center for Toxicological Research! Pick up incoming mail daily from the local USPS post office. Transport mail to and from USPS locations as required.  This position will report to the Project manager and is based at National Center for Toxicological Research in Redfield, Arkansas. Typical work hours will be Monday- Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.

Benefits Include:

  • Base pay of $17.75 an hour.

What You'll Do as Mail Courier:

  • Mail Collection & Delivery:
    • Pick up incoming mail daily from the local USPS post office.
    • Transport mail to and from USPS locations as required.
    • Collect outgoing mail and parcels from 42 designated internal mail drop locations twice daily.
    • Ensure all mail is sorted and delivered within two (2) business days of retrieval from the post office.
  • Mail Sorting & Distribution:
    • Accurately sort incoming USPS and internal campus mail.
    • Distribute mail to proper departments, personnel, or mail receptacles throughout the campus or facility.
  • Overnight Express Mail Handling:
    • Retrieve and process all Overnight Express Mail items.
    • Complete all required USPS and internal forms and documentation accurately and timely.
    • Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and submission of express mail according to federal postal regulations and institutional guidelines.
  • Customer Service & Communication:
    • Interact professionally with internal staff and postal employees.
    • Address questions or concerns regarding mail status or routing promptly and respectfully.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate records of mail pick-ups, drop-offs, and express mail processing.
    • Ensure compliance with USPS requirements and institutional mail-handling protocols.

What You'll Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift, push, or carry mailbags and packages up to 45 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Capable of maintaining a consistent route and meeting daily schedules.
  • Familiarity with USPS procedures, particularly Overnight Express Mail, is preferred.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to climb, bend, squat, push, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to comply with and interpret company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate continual attention to detail in composing and proofing documents, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and work with minimal direction and supervision.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass criminal and drug screening.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions while transporting mail.
  • Ability to work around loud noise
  • Position involves prolonged periods of driving, walking, lifting, and sorting.
  • Requires regular route travel across campus or facility locations.
