Description

The Silver Oak Retail Team is looking for a regular full-time Merchandize Coordinator. This role will be responsible for ordering, tracking and stocking merchandise for all tasting room locations. This includes moving inventory between locations, stocking retail sales floors with products in accordance with our merchandise standards and implementing retail and seasonal displays. This position also supports other departments with ordering supplies, uniforms, and non-retail merchandise. 


This position reports to the VP of Customer Experience and will be based out of our Healdsburg, CA location, with travel required between our locations.


This is a is an hourly, non-exempt position, eligible for all company benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) and time off. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 


Inventory Coordination

· Oversee receiving, counting, quality control and tagging of all incoming retail merchandise.

· Travel to warehouse to process new merchandise arrivals on site.

· Maintain a clean and organized warehouse space for receiving retail/wholesale merchandise.

· Manage merchandise transfers from warehouse to other winery locations.

· Travel to local vendor locations to pick up or deliver small merchandise projects.

· Track inventory movement such as receiving, sales, and promotional activity.


Purchasing & Analysis

· Work closely with the VP of Consumer Experience to establish a merchandise program that exceeds customer expectations and represents our brand philosophy.

· Forecast and present recommendations for ordering needs to maintain inventory aligned with merchandise sales and purchase budget targets. 

· Implement approved new product/reorder plans for retail merchandise, including purchase orders, setting up new vendors, processing payments and scheduling deliveries.

· Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to select items, negotiate pricing, and establish processes for carrying items in pre-determined sites. 

· Responsible for working collaboratively with the VP of Consumer Experience on all merchandise budgets.

· Track monthly merchandise purchase activity against budget.

· Forecast and present recommendations for discontinuation of slow-moving stock. 

· Implement approved price changes for retail merchandise. 

· Communicate and coordinate with vendors on merchandise reorders, samples, invoicing, seasonal needs, and artwork approvals. 

· Submit merchandise invoices and associated coding to Accounts Payable.

· Support departments such as Tasting Rooms, Wholesale, Events and Admin with assigned sourcing and ordering requests.

· Upload and maintain pertinent Merchandising reports, invoices, and ordering information on Merchandising Teams channel.

· Generate Merchandising data reports upon request

· Stay up to date on current products and trends and make related recommendations.


Visual Merchandising & Tasting Room Support

· Executes product placement and floor re-sets in tasting rooms.

· Routinely visit Napa Valley/Sonoma County tasting rooms and travel to Healdsburg Warehouse on a weekly basis or as needed.

· While on the Tasting Room floor, greet guests warmly, answer merchandise questions, and help them locate products as needed. Ring up customer merchandise and wine orders as needed while working the floor (average frequency: 2-3 days per week).

· Manage and maintain all merchandise props and supplies.

· Collaborate with tasting room staff to maintain stockroom organization and cleanliness.

· Assist Tasting Rooms with seasonal visual display installations.

· Assist with special events and occasions that require merchandising involvement, such as Release Day and/or Twomey Membership activities.

· Communicate merchandise information including inventory availability, reorder dates, and general product knowledge to Tasting Room teams.

· Attend weekly Retail Manager meetings to discuss status of merchandise inventory and projects, resource needs, and issues impacting visual presentation. 

· Assist with merchandise inventory at various locations as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 3-4 years related experience required.

· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

· Must be available to travel to all company locations as needed.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Work is performed in multiple locations including office space, warehouse, and tasting rooms. The individual is occasionally exposed to warehouse/cellar temperatures that are cool and fumes or airborne particles relative to normal cellar processes. 

· Busy and distractive open work atmosphere.

Salary Description
$24 to $30/hour, based on experience.
