About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer needs and market trends into technical specifications for electrified powertrain features.
- Oversee the development and validation of propulsion systems, including energy management, torque delivery, and drive modes.
- Manage System Engineers to derive system requirements from technical specifications.
- Define and maintain the system architecture for electrified powertrains, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and testing, to ensure seamless integration of powertrain components.
- Conduct thorough system-level testing and analysis to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in electric vehicle technology and industry trends.
- Contribute to the development of intellectual property and patent applications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Native German speaker or EU citizen.
- 10-15 years of experience in automotive OEM, specifically in powertrain system architecture.
- Deep understanding of electrified powertrain systems, including battery management, electric motors, and power electronics.
- Proven ability to translate customer needs into technical specifications.
- Experience in managing system engineers and leading technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of system engineering principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) is a plus.
