Revenue Qualification Specialist Position Summary
Supports the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization by tracking and receiving documents including certificates of medical necessity, face to face documentation, test results, and compliance downloads for all payers.

Revenue Qualification Specialist Essential Functions
- Models and holds others accountable to the Barnes culture and acts as a coach and mentor for others in the organization.
- Provides timely and accurate processing of revenue cycle workflows to facilitate whole patient care, maximize financial performance, and supports the vision and mission of the organization.
- Creates and track CMNs/SMNs, sends prepared CMNs/SMNs to the physician’s offices, and follows up on the return of CMNs/SMNs.
- Performs quality assurance checks on returned CMNs/SMNs to verify accuracy of information and log in billing system.
- Contacts patients for updated information and communicates with field locations to obtain needed information.
- Proactively works to reduce unbilled dollars holding by working reports and tracking within the billing system.
- Maintains current knowledge of documentation requirements for all payers.
- Prioritizes internal or external customer needs, works to find win-win solutions, and communicates in a timely, credible, and transparent manner.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and recommended best practices, and stays abreast of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Revenue Qualification Specialist Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- AA or higher preferred
- Medical billing/revenue cycle experience strongly preferred
Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
