So, what will the Fleet Maintenance Technician atTerrestris do?
The Fleet Maintenance Technician will provide vehiclemaintenance support services at the Mississippi Air National Guard (MSANG)Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) in Gulfport, Mississippi. This positionis responsible for ensuring the operational readiness, safety, and reliabilityof a diverse fleet of military, emergency response, and support vehicles. Technicians will perform scheduled and unscheduledmaintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs in accordance with U.S. AirForce, Air National Guard, and manufacturer technical manuals, policies, andsafety standards. Duties include troubleshooting and repairing engines,drivetrains, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, and other critical vehiclecomponents. The Fleet Maintenance Technician will maintain accuratemaintenance and service documentation, adhere to all contract performancerequirements, and support the mission of the MSANG by ensuring vehicles andequipment remain fully mission capable. This role requires strict attention todetail, adherence to regulatory compliance, and a commitment to supportingmilitary readiness.
What does a typical day look like for a FleetMaintenance Technician?
You will:·
- Performscheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs ona wide range of military, emergency response, and support vehicles.
- Troubleshootand repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, drivetrain, and brake systemissues in accordance with manufacturer and U.S. Air Force/Air National Guardtechnical manuals.
- Conductpreventive maintenance to ensure vehicles remain mission-ready, safe, andreliable.
- Maintainaccurate and complete maintenance records, work orders, and service logs asrequired by contract and Air National Guard standards.
- Ensurecompliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements whileperforming maintenance operations.
- Operatediagnostic equipment, tools, and specialized test devices in support of vehiclerepairs and service.
- Collaboratewith supervisors, technicians, and MSANG personnel to prioritize maintenancetasks and meet mission requirements.
- Assist inmanaging parts, supplies, and inventory necessary to support fleet operations.
- Respond toemergency or mission-critical vehicle service requests in a timely andprofessional manner.
- Support themission of the MSANG CRTC by ensuring all vehicles always remain operationaland mission capable.
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:
- Authorization to permanently work in the UnitedStates without sponsorship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorablebackground check.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;technical school or formal automotive/diesel training preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in vehiclemaintenance, repair, and diagnostics; experience with military, emergencyresponse, or heavy-duty vehicles strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of gasoline, diesel, and alternativefuel engines; drivetrains; electrical systems; hydraulic systems; andbrake/steering systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technicalmanuals, schematics, and maintenance instructions.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, computerizedmaintenance systems, and repair equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)required.
- ASE certifications in medium/heavy truck repair(T Series)
- NFPA EVT Level II certification for advancedmaintenance and repair of fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform duties invarying environments, including outdoor and field conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, organizationalskills, and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Must be able to work independently and as partof a team to support mission readiness requirements.
