Job description

The Plant Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for managing and leading the daily operations and administrative functions of an assigned facility. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to oversee our warehouse storage system. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, maintaining efficient storage layouts, optimizing space, and ensuring the proper storage and handling of goods. This role involves leading a team of approximately 20 employees and making recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and safety to ensure the efficient delivery of products and services for customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Plant Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the organization and management of warehouse storage space.

  • Training and developing on-site management to ensure specific site goals are obtained.

  • Developing and implementing storage strategies that maximize space and improve inventory flow.

  • Ensuring proper storage methods are in place, such as proper stacking, labeling, and storage conditions.

  • Supervising a team of warehouse staff and providing training on storage practices.

  • Ensuring standards of production, quality, safety, and equipment are maintained through a cost-effective process to ensure maximum productivity.

  • Troubleshooting, investigating, and making recommendations to implement solutions to problems related to any area of the facility.

  • Partnering with Regional Managers or Division Operations Vice President in establishing operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete on-time delivery.

  • Working closely with customers, both external and internal, to ensure relationships are established and maintained at the highest level.

  • Providing leadership and guidance to facilitate action plans in a timely and proactive manner.

  • Analyzing and communicating financial, operational, and administrative problems or concerns and working to bring resolve in a prompt, professional manner.

  • Conducting regular audits of inventory and storage systems to ensure accuracy.

  • Working closely with other departments to ensure the smooth movement of goods.

  • Preparing reports on storage conditions, inventory, and operational efficiency.

  • Handling product returns and ensuring damaged goods are managed appropriately.

  • Maintaining cleanliness and order in the warehouse at all times.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) required.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Operations Management.

  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

  • Certifications & Licenses: A valid Driver's License is required.

  • Other Requirements: Progressive experience in plant operations, P&L or Cost Center Experience, Customer Service, Safety, and Labor management experience.

  • Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is a hands-on leadership role that requires regular movement throughout the facility.

  • The ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift for extended periods is required.

  • Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs. as needed to oversee operations.

Work Environment:

  • This position is based in a warehouse and production environment.

  • You may be exposed to dust, noise, and fluctuating temperatures.

  • The role may require a combination of office and facility floor time.
